BlackDave.org – Divide and Conquer

Hey guys!

I wrote a post earlier on Hiro, my HTC Hero, and apparently the app sucks and doesn’t save drafts very well, so the whole thing was deleted…so here I am doing a round 2. This time, I’m sitting on a 15 inch MacBook Pro. I would really like to own one of these, and I’m going to save money until I can purchase one of these things. That’ll be super swell.

How are things going for you? Hopefully all is well. I know this post seems very upbeat, but I am by no means feeling as such. Let’s get into this post though. What are you guys anticipating as presents for whatever holiday you celebrate? Hopefully something good, right? I have no anticipations, but any gift is a good one. Hopefully everyone who doesn’t have a PS3 is going to be getting one of those, or at least trading in whatever gifts they did get for one, because we all know that would undoubtedly be the best move to make. What are some super hot PS3 games coming out soon? I know that Final Fantasy 13 is going to be rolling out soon, so I’ll end this paragraph on that note:

I really hate Winter. It’s definitely my least favorite season, even living in the South where it’s basically warm all the time. My personal favorite season is Autumn/Fall. I really dig how that weather feels during that period, and the leaf changing color thing is sick as fuck. That’s the season where ugly girls are overshadowed by girls who have any sense of style, and I can try my best to….flaunt my amazing personality. Yes, my personality is amazing. And yes, fuck you too.

New Year is coming up. 2kX is on it’s way! Are you excited? I am! I was hoping that the 2k series of games would call 2010 sports games 2kX, and they didn’t. That’s a shame. Right now I’m trying to figure out when someone is going to hop on one of my ideas and I can be pissed about it when I see it on tv. Terrible example, but here’s one: the Snuggie. My grandma saw a commercial for the god awful Snuggie and was like, I’ve been doing that for years! All it is is wearing a robe backwards!
Fucking backwards. It’s that simple. My grandma was pissssssssed. It was pretty funny.

Anyway, what’s up with resolutions for the year ahead? I had some written up, but I have already forgotten them…so let’s try again:
Firstly, I would like to have…website domination. If this blog could become a bit more popular, that would be sick. I guess that requires a bit more marketing or whatever, but that’s something I’m not interested in at all!
Secondly, I would enjoy going on a tour. A legit tour, not one like the one I went on with Darling Waste where I played no shows and sat cooped up in a basement in New York for 2 weeks, but one where I’m playing shows and having a good time. I hope that band never gets any sort of popularity or recognition. Terrible part of my life.
Thirdly, where the fuck you at Sierra!?!?!?!? You’re a resolution @SierraVE! Let’s work on that shit!

Whatever. My mind is fucked and I’m not used to a Mac enough to type/thing effectively. So have fun.

Good morning guys.

Today is my 21st birthday. If you’re my friend, text me or something. I’m sitting in a town where I don’t know anyone with a band of dudes that a barely know recording an album. That’s the life, I guess.

On my birthday, especially my 21st, shouldn’t I be out doing something like getting drunk? Naw. You see what I’m doing — Blogging.

I’m still in NY recording this album, but I suppose I’ll grace you with some of my latest thoughts.

You guys ever heard of a band called “Lydia”?  It’s some female-fronted indie band from Arizona.

Now, if you guys haven’t learned anything from my Sierra rants, it’s that I love female fronted bands…hell, I just love females…but I think Lydia has been played out in my eyes. They aren’t bad. I think that the style they use for their songs is very repetitive and played. I’m listening to them right now, so that I can accurately say shit. I’d reccommend them to my hip friends. My guitarist is really into them, and I’m just so fucking tired of listening to them.

I don’t know if you guys know, but I’m a pretty big fan of Dance Gavin Dance. I’m listening to them right now, in fact. Their new album, which isn’t titled, should be dropping soon. I’m sure you’re expecting me to have some exclusive bullshit, but my pirate game has been lacking lately…so I’ll instead tell you about the band that their new vocalist, Jonny Craig’s, new band. The band he in isn’t new, but he’s completely flipped their script.

Y’all niggas ever heard of ‘Emarosa’? That’s them. The achieved fame from a song called “Utah (but I’m taller)”. That’s such an ill song title, btw. Well, they went from being a pretty heavy posthardcore band to a poppier sound with the switching of vocalists.

Anyway….Emarosa’s new album, “Relativity”,  is a good CD, but in my mind….not Emarosa.

So, I’m not really on tour yet, I’m just all the way across the country with half of my band. I know I probably made myself sound real awesome by pulling that “I’m on tour” bullshit….but….I’m still awesome.

Anyway, I’m sitting in Uniontown, PA – which was established on July 4, 1776 – hating my cell phone provider, SunCom Wireless. I don’t know if you know, but I carry a hiptop, which is nothing more than a sidekick…and for me, to have data services outside of my service area costs way too much. If you wanna donate some bread to a nigga so that he can have the services, I won’t be upset.

Speaking of cell phones, I really hate people with really lame ones. The requirements of a cell phone worth using are two things:

1. QWERTY

2. Internet

I don’t get a fuck if I never talk to you on the internet of even if you have the service disabled. You just better be capable of using it or else….you need a new phone and I’ll trash you for it 24/7. Now if you have one of those sony-ericsson phones that play music or whatever, I’ll let you slide…but anything else and you suck ass.

You guys know how I hyped the fuck out of Sky Eats Airplane up to this point? I’m done doing that. I copped the new CD the day after it came out and needless to say, it wasn’t worth it. After the huge amount of hype SEA has built up over the years…their self-titled debut album was a bust to me. How you gonna go from the most inspirational two piece band to another hardcore band who besides having computer generated electronics, has a keyboard player. I’m gonna need someone to talk to me about that. They did have one song I was really into called “Numbers”. It’s on their myspace…here’s a link:

Starting this Friday, I’ll be in upper New York…homeless. If you or anyone you know lives there and wouldn’t mind me crashing at your place, hit me up. I’m already thoroughly depressed about the gas prices that are going to be poppin off up there. I bet I’m super slow on this concept, but lately I’ve been noticing that gas stations have been wielding these super cheap pumps that have ethanol or some bullshit in them. Sickness. Pure sickness. Nothin better than saving money.

Tell me why the other day someone told me that I DO give a fuck about things, after only knowing me for a few short hours. He associated this hypothesis with the idea that I’m a nice guy. Though nice, that doesn’t mean I have to give a fuck about things or about you. I told him that…he stood his ground. Great job.
